James McGrath is an accomplished artist with a diverse range of experience in historical imagery, digital media, and traditional art. In this video I have placed an iconic ancient greek statue of a dancing Daphne into a swirl of Australian native Banksia flowers. While the camera traces a helix path around the group ,they engage in act of “dance” or literally meshing together. Western ideal beauty is submerged into the gnarled Anitpodean native flora, a contrast of time and place.
