I’m not very flexible, can I practice yoga?
Absolutely! In fact you are the ideal candidate. Many people think that they need to be flexible before they can practice yoga, but that’s a little bit like thinking you need to be able to swim in order to take swimming lessons. We all started somewhere, so come along and you may well find your flexibility improves with practice. It is more important that your yoga practice does you good than if you can touch your toes.
Testimonials
“Rachel’s classes are refreshingly different every week. She clearly puts a lot of time and effort into planning the classes. As much as this is a power yoga class, her accessible teaching style means there are options for all ability levels” RR- Review of Power Yoga

“Rachel gives lots of options to suit different levels of experience. Very supportive. I feel really good by the end of these classes.”- RG- Review of Vinyasa Flow

“I am really amazed how Rachel manages to give instructions for multiple levels, perform the poses herself, watching us online and all that without losing the rhythm or flow. Few ashtanga teachers can do that.”- AS - Review of Ashtanga

“Great class and Rachel was a fantastic teacher. Very well managed given it has to be done virtually! Really nice way to wind down after work. Thanks Rachel!”- Review of Yin Yoga -RN

“Rachel is connected to her students and offers a lot of variations to adapt her class to everyone. Thank you again, challenging but achievable!” - Review of Vinyasa Flow- CE

  • About Rachel:

I’m a northern gal living in Bristol.

I offer weekly group yoga classes at Hotpod Yoga and in a Studio on Brunswick Square just a few minutes from the city centre. I also offers private sessions at The Practice Rooms in Stokes Croft, these can be 1:1 or small groups that are tailor made to suit the individual or the group each time. Corporate yoga sessions are also available on request, I currently work with a co-working space to provide their clients weekly yoga sessions on their lunch break. I can provide yoga, relaxation and general wellbeing support for teams in the workplace.

I have studied and practice several styles of yoga. Weaving these approaches into my classes means they are varied, creative, challenging (with options for differing levels of ability and energy levels) and fun. I like to keep my classes focused but not too serious!

I am a firm believer that there is always an option for everyone, empowering you to adjust your practice and tune in to what your body truly needs, be it a challenge or to go softer. This will allow you to work hard but also respectfully, or slow down and explore mindfully.

Previously I worked as a mental health nurse for over a decade in a variety of settings including acute and recovery hospitals, private mental health ambulances and also as Senior Wellbeing Practitioner within a University Wellbeing team.

In 2011 I qualified in Holistic Massage Therapy through BCMB. My experience in nursing, yoga and massage therapy gives me an in depth understanding of the body and mind and allows me to take on a holistic approach in all of my sessions.
